In 2013, African Union (AU) Member States adopted Agenda 2063—a 50-year strategic framework to transform Africa into a global hub of inclusive growth and sustainable development. Spanning multiple sectors, it sets out an ambitious, integrated vision for the continent’s long-term transformation.

Aligned with this vision, AKADEMIYA2063 is driven by the belief that achieving Africa’s aspirations requires strong, responsive knowledge and evidence systems. Our vision—an Africa with the expertise we need for the Africa we want—underscores the central role of high-quality data, analytics, and local expertise in informing effective policy design and implementation. Inclusive, evidence-informed policymaking is essential to accelerating growth, creating wealth, and improving livelihoods.

Realizing this vision depends on strengthening the enabling environment for evidence-based decision-making. This includes ensuring access to timely, relevant data; fostering local analytical capacity to translate data into actionable insights; and supporting mutual accountability platforms that promote transparency and track progress. Effective knowledge management and coordination are equally critical to connecting demand for evidence with African centers of expertise and ensuring that data and insights are widely accessible and used.

Agenda 2063 Capsule Series

Against this backdrop, AKADEMIYA2063’s Agenda 2063 Capsule Series will enhance understanding of the organization’s interventions by demonstrating impact and showcasing how its programs translate evidence into action—bridging continental frameworks and country-level implementation.

The series will deliver concise, policy-relevant, and evidence-based insights on how data, analytics, and technical capacity drive progress toward achieving Agenda 2063. It will highlight practical use cases from across AU Member States, illustrating how strengthened technical capacity and policy intelligence support national, regional, and continent-wide transformation efforts.

Through this platform, policymakers, development partners, practitioners, and researchers will gain a clearer understanding of AKADEMIYA2063’s role as a knowledge partner—and how its work contributes to the delivery of Africa’s Agenda 2063.
